Scotland boasts a large geographical area and this means there's plenty of room for a diverse collection of chocolate shops, chocolate brands, chocolatiers, and chocolate makers. Due to the vast distances in Scotland, many of the national chains stick to the main cities within the country, meaning there's a fantastic selection of chocolate shops and makers right across the land.
Inevitably, you'll discover fewer chocolate makers in the Highlands and Islands, but I still found a few makers to include in my list.

If you are a real chocolate fan, try a chocolate bar from your local craft chocolate maker and you'll be blown away by how different it tastes compared to mass-produced chocolate. I've also listed national chocolate chains seperately, and have defined a chain as a business that has at least two stores.
